ACC Canmore Clubhouse Wins Green Hostel Award

We are humbled and excited to announce that the Canmore Clubhouse has been selected as the winner of the 2017 “Eco-Warrior Award" for the highest Eco-QAS rating in environmental stewardship for a large hostel in the Pacific Mountain Region.
After conducting an annual assessment of all affiliate hostels, Hosteling International selects an award winner in a number of categories on an annual basis, and this year, we stood out as the west's best and brightest eco-warrior!
Elements of the Canmore Clubhouse that led to being awarded a high rating:
- Changed all our lights to LED
- Added two solar panels for hot water
- Use of recycled and environmentally friendly cleaning products
- Use of well water and grey water systems
- Motion sensors on many lights
- Excellent recycling program
- Cold-water-only washing machines
- Free bikes for low impact transportation

Features of the hostel
Whether you’re skiing or ice climbing in the winter, mountain biking in the summer or looking for a comfortable stop on your journey through the Rockies, the Canmore Clubhouse is your perfect base.
We’re located 4.5 km from downtown Canmore, Alberta on a sunny bench overlooking the Bow Valley – far enough away to be completely quiet and close enough to take advantage of all the amenities of town. The views from the deck really are unbeatable.
Our three buildings offer accommodation to suit any traveler. The main Clubhouse is suited best to small parties and individuals, the Bell Cabin is perfect for small groups (up to 15) and extended families and the Boswell Cabin offers private family rooms for those looking for a little more privacy.

The Clubhouse is a hostel-style facility that sleeps up to 31 people in seven newly renovated, separate rooms (4-7 people per room). Sheets, blankets, pillows and towels are provided. The Clubhouse is licensed, and beer and snacks are available from the reception desk.
