Understanding Summer 2022 Bookings
We’re opening our huts for summer bookings beginning on March 10th 2022! If haven’t heard the news already, you can find the relevant info here:
We’re using some new policies to manage our summer bookings this year including staggered openings for reservations and a hybrid model of exclusive and dorm-style for most huts. There’s also no lottery for Elizabeth Parker (first-come, first-served this year) and more.
There’s a few things to figure out before we jump into our 2022 summer season, but stay with us and we’ll do our best to clarify!
Changes for Summer 2022

Bookings open on March 10th for the first part of summer and then we’ll open up more summer dates on a schedule.
Here’s the timing of when you can make summer bookings:
Mar 10th: May 01 – June 16 overnights
Mar 17th: June 17 – July 16 overnights
Mar 28th: July 17 – Aug 16 overnights
Apr 11th: Aug 17 – Sept 16 overnights
Apr 22nd: Sept 17 – Oct 31 overnights

Like many people and organizations, the ACC has been watching the COVID pandemic and the provincial health recommendations very closely.
We’re now in a position to open our huts to summer reservations, but we also recognize that there will be large demand right out of the gates; this will be our largest opening of huts ever.
Staggering the release of dates will give our staff the best chance to respond to all of the requests in a timely manner.
We know that our hut guests want to start planning their summer and these bookings are a big part of that. This is the best system for getting all of these reservations done efficiently.

With the short timeline between the latest provincial guidelines and the summer season, we won’t have time to run a full lottery for EP Hut bookings this summer.
All huts (including EP) will be booked the same way - booking request forms will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yes, the bus will be running from June 17 to October 2.
EP Hut bookings will include an opportunity to make bus reservations, as in past years.

Our guests will be able to fill out a booking request form with their desired dates. We’ll respond and set up payment from there. We’re working on making the process as simple and as quick as possible.

The Hybrid Booking System

ACC huts have historically been reserved dormitory-style, meaning that people could book any number of beds. During COVID, we changed all of our huts to exclusive bookings because to avoid sharing of accommodations during the worst of the pandemic.
The hybrid system means that for summer 2022, huts will be available as dorm-style accommodation for some weeks, and exclusive for other weeks.

Exclusive bookings are great for large parties that can use a whole hut, but not great for small parties.
We’ve heard from members who say they feel that they’ve been “priced-out” of hut bookings with the exclusive model. We’ve also heard from other members who say that they aren’t yet comfortable sharing accommodation with others.
We believe in making the outdoors inclusive and accessible to everyone. and our hybrid model, with a return of dorm-style bookings for some weeks, and keeping exclusive bookings for other weeks, is our way of making overnights available to both of those user groups.

No. Seven of our busiest huts are on the hybrid system. Twelve of our huts are on a pure dorm-style model and three of our huts are open for exclusive bookings only. You can see all of the rates and dates here.
